PIANO TECHNICIAN

The Piano Technician (PT) is responsible for the management and use of the Academy’s owned and borrowed piano fleet. This position is responsible for ensuring that all instruments are kept in performance-ready standards in accordance with Academy standards and Steinway guidelines. The PT will also act as a mentor for aspiring piano technicians through a summer fellowship program currently in development. In 2017 the Academy will become an all-Steinway institution, with a permanent inventory of 55 instruments on the Miraflores campus and summer use of up to 30 instruments in other venues. As a key member of the Artistic department, the person in this position will report to the Vice President of Artistic Planning and Educational Programs. This is a full-time exempt position.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE

The Marketing and Communications Associate supports the work of the Marketing and Communications Department by coordinating the production of all printed programs for the 2017 Summer Festival, as well as handling any promotional needs the Summer Season presents. HOUSE MANAGER

The House Manager is responsible for overseeing all Front of House operations before, during, and after each event where patrons and audience members are present. The House Manager works closely with Ticket Office staff, stage and production staff, and others to ensure successful, smooth operation of Music Academy events.  Note that the Music Academy will be hiring two House Managers. Responsibilities will be assigned based on the strengths and experience of the selected candidates. This is a full time, seasonal position from June 1-August 1, 2017.

ORCHESTRA MANAGER

The Orchestra Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of orchestra rehearsals and performances, serving as a liaison between Academy Fellows, guest conductors, faculty, and administration regarding all aspects of orchestral activities. AUDIO TECHNICAL MANAGER

The Audio Technical Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of audio technology needs for the Music Academy. Duties include managing audio and electronic needs for concerts and masterclasses, as well as live streamed events. The Audio Technical Manager reports to the Venues Manager and works closely with Music Academy administration, faculty, guest artists, and fellows. This is a full time, seasonal position from June 5-August 8, 2017.

STAGE CREW

The Stage Crew is responsible for the day-to-day production needs of the Music Academy’s eight week summer festival. Duties include stage managing events in Hahn Hall as well as providing support for events held in off-campus venues. The members of the stage crew report to the Venues Manager and will work closely with Music Academy administration, faculty, guest artists, and fellows. LIBRARY ASSISTANT

The Library Assistant supports all activities of the circulation and orchestra library, including the preparation, distribution, and collection of music for five orchestra concerts, one opera, and various chamber performances. The Library Assistant works closely with faculty, conductors, fellows, and Music Academy staff and reports to the Music Librarian. This is a full time, seasonal position from June 5-August 8, 2017.

MERIT PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The MERIT Program Assistant supports the MERIT Program Coordinator on daily organizational and administrative tasks. Additionally, the MERIT Program Assistant helps create and foster a warm, receptive environment for learning and creativity for the MERIT students and Music Academy fellow mentors. This is a part-time, seasonal position from July 10-28, 2017.

RESIDENT DIRECTOR

The Resident Directors manage the Academy’s residence life program under the direction of the Student Services department. RDs serve as the Academy’s first and main point-of-contact for the residential campus at which the Academy houses fellows (students), Resident Directors, and select summer administration. RDs enhance a positive and supportive community environment at the residential campus through supervision of fellow housing facilities, holding fellows accountable to policies as outlined in the Academy Handbook, engaging fellows in weekly social events, offering referrals to support services such as the wellness program and counseling resources, and responding to campus emergencies. This is a live-in, seasonal position from June 1- August 8, 2017.
