VENUES MANAGER

The Venues Manager (VM) is responsible for the management and use of the Academy’s performance, rehearsal, and instructional venues, as well as the equipment found therein. This position is responsible for ensuring the success and smooth operation of all public productions and non-public events which take place in these venues. This is a 40 hour per week non-exempt position, whose schedule will vary weekly based on venue use. The VM reports to the Artistic Administrator. The VM supervises part-time and temporary stage and technical crew members.

PIANO TECHNICIAN

The Piano Technician (PT) is responsible for the management and use of the Academy’s owned and borrowed piano fleet. This position is responsible for ensuring that all instruments are kept in performance-ready standards in accordance with Academy standards and Steinway guidelines. The PT will also act as a mentor for aspiring piano technicians through a summer fellowship program currently in development. In 2017 the Academy will become an all-Steinway institution, with a permanent inventory of 55 instruments on the Miraflores campus and summer use of up to 30 instruments in other venues. As a key member of the Artistic department, the person in this position will report to the Vice President of Artistic Planning and Educational Programs. This is a full-time exempt position.

ADVANCEMENT ASSOCIATE

The Advancement Associate works closely with all members of the Music Academy’s Advancement team and assists in the coordination of the Academy’s fundraising and donor cultivation programs. The position will help prepare for donor solicitations and assist with the development of advancement collateral. The Advancement Associate reports to the Director of Development. The ideal candidate is someone seeking to align with a highly successful and professional organization to enhance their skills in nonprofit administration and/or fundraising.

OFFICE MANAGER

The Office Manager is a member of the Music Academy of the West’s Administration department. Primary responsibilities include reception and secretarial support.  As the Academy’s primary point of contact for the general public, the Office Manager exemplifies generosity and courteousness, and as such receives campus visitors and responds to phone inquiries with warmth and friendliness.
