Charitable donations are essential to the Music Academy's full-scholarship program. Without generous, sustained support, the Academy would be unable to admit talented musicians regardless of their ability to pay tuition and housing costs.

Capital and Endowment Giving
The Music Academy offers both capital and endowment giving opportunities. To participate in the Academy's Name-A-Seat Campaign (in Hahn Hall) or for information on how to make a legacy gift to the Academy's endowment, please contact Scott Reed, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, at 805.695.7914 or sreed@musicacademy.org.
Stock Gifts
You can also support the Academy by donating appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
Gifts of appreciated securities that have been owned for more than a year generally entitle donors to an income tax deduction for the securities' full market value. Such gifts also enable donors to avoid capital gains taxes that would otherwise be due upon a sale.
Securities can be transferred through a broker or delivered directly to the Music Academy. If the securities are Depository Trust Company (DTC) eligible, they can be transferred electronically through Citigroup/Smith Barney. The routing should be as follows:

Please notify us that securities are being transferred electronically so we may confirm that they have reached our account. Transaction records should contain a notation referencing the name of the donor. The Music Academy's Tax ID number is 95-1525814.

To transfer shares of mutual funds or to establish an account for the Academy with your broker, please call for additional information. The Music Academy also accepts shares of closely held stock.

The Music Academy has partnered with Cars 4 Causes to handle all of the details associated with your tax-deductible car donation. Even non-running vehicles will be accepted. Matching gifts
Many corporations will match employee contributions to charitable organizations. Matching gifts are a great way to increase your support to the Music Academy.
