Michael Benchetrit is a vice president at Columbia Artists Management. Born and raised in France, where he studied film history and aesthetics at the Sorbonne, he worked as a screenwriter, assistant editor, and assistant director in the film and video industry before turning to stage direction and, soon thereafter, artist management, the latter on the advice of Marilyn Horne. In 1996 he moved to New York City, where he was hired by Columbia Artists as a managerial assistant. Today his talent roster includes Jamie Barton, Nicole Cabell, Tom Fox, Quinn Kelsey, Thomas Meglioranza, Erin Morley, Marjorie Owens, Bruce Sledge, Russell Thomas, Erin Wall, James Westman, and Guang Yang.

A former Marilyn Horne Foundation Advisory Board member, Mr. Benchetrit hails from a family of trained operatic singers and studied piano for 10 years. He is the author of several articles in the French music press as well as a chapter on the critical and public acclaim accorded the first Star Wars trilogy in a French anthology devoted to those films.
