Born in Peru, Hilda Freyre began her administrative career supporting executives in banking and finance and Ambassador Javier Perez de Cuellar, the former UN Secretary General.  In 1998, Ms. Freyre moved to the United States where she settled down in Ventura, California.  Her love of people and being of service was a perfect fit in her position as Office Manager of The Ventura Visitors & Convention Bureau where she contributed to marketing and promoting the City of Ventura as a destination for leisure travel, meetings and film production.  She was the team leader responsible for the launch of a fully integrated online presence, including website design upgrade, optimization, new media applications, social media, newsletters, communications and promotions.  She developed and maintained strong working relationships with board members, city council and local hospitality partners.  Her most recent position was as an Executive Administrative Assistant to Ty Warner and the Director of Development of Ty Warner Hotels & Resorts.

Ms. Freyre has been very involved in the local community of Ventura, serving as a Public Arts Commissioner, Board Member of the Buenaventura Art Association, as well as an active participant in the fine arts in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

Her curiosity about other cultures had led her to travel throughout Europe and South America.  Ms. Freyre received multiple scholarships from the University of Genova. She is a current active member of the Italian group in Santa Barbara.

In her free time, Hilda Freyre loves to pursue her passion for oil painting, depicting the local landscape of Southern California.  She likes to paint places that speak to her soul; that makes her laugh inside and that makes her heart jump with excitement. California scenery has been an inspiration to her for many years. She feels that by capturing places on her canvas they remain timeless and that life should be lived as an adventure.

Hilda enjoys traveling, gardening, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends participating in the many outdoor activities the Central Coast of California has to offer.
