MUSIC ACADEMY OF THE WEST INTRODUCES
MUSIC ACADEMY REMOTE LEARNING INSTITUTE (MARLI)
& CREATIVE EXTENSION
The Music Academy has made swift strides to ensure a transformative experience for the 139 full-scholarship fellows this summer by implementing an entirely new online platform (June 14-July 25).
MARLI is a distance learning experience for four weeks from June 14-July 10 for our full-scholarship fellows to receive online mentorship from faculty, guest artists, and industry leaders. Dedicated community Compeers will connect with the fellows in online social meetings. And home audiences around the world will be able to watch online performances by fellows, faculty, and alumni via the Music Academy Concert Hall Online.
All MARLI fellows receive a technology package for communication and recording that includes an iPad mini, recording and editing software for audio and video, a condenser microphone with high sample rate and bit depth optimized for remote learning, studio headphones, and filming equipment.
The two-week Creative Extension (July 11-July 25) will focus on career opportunities for the fellows; including participation in the London Symphony Orchestra Keston MAX auditions, the MARLI Digital Challenge (open to all fellows), and the Fast Pitch Awards, plus fellows may opt into a Professional Development Stipend to develop career skills and/or produce creative content.
