Jean-Yves Thibaudet, hailed as one of the best pianists in the world, continues to captivate audiences around the world with his thrilling performances, profound artistry, poetic musicality and dazzling technical prowess. Mr. Thibaudet is sought after by today’s foremost orchestras, festivals, conductors, and collaborative musicians for his enlightened interpretations and charisma on and off the stage. This season he is Artist-in-Residence with Orchestre National de France, Wiener Symphoniker, and the Colburn School in Los Angeles - the first residency of its kind. He plays a range of solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire, from Beethoven through Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, and Saint-Saëns; to Ravel, Khachaturian and Gershwin; and to contemporary composers Qigang Chen and James MacMillan. On June 18, 2010, the Hollywood Bowl honored Mr. Thibaudet for his musical achievement by inducting him into the Hollywood Bowl of Fame. He has recorded more than 50 albums on the Decca label.
