ALYSSA KATAHARA 20, was born in Bethesda, Maryland, to a military family and as such she has lived throughout the world. Currently an undergraduate at The Colburn Conservatory of Music, Ms. Katahara studies with JoAnn Turovsky. Previously, Ms. Katahara attended Interlochen Arts Academy, where she graduated with honors and studied with Joan Holland, and has also attended Interlochen Arts Camp as an Emerson Scholar and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. In the summer of 2016, Ms. Katahara was a fellow with the National Repertory Orchestra, where she served as principal harpist and appeared as soloist in Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto. Additional solo appearances have been made with the National Philharmonic, Interlochen Arts Camp, and Peabody Preparatory Young Artists Orchestras.
