ANNA PETROVA 30, born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, received her doctorate from Manhattan School of Music studying under Horacio Gutierréz and André-Michel Schub. Ms. Petrova was prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the José Roca International Piano, Bösendorfer USASU International, and Maria Yudina International Music Competitions. As a semifinalist in the Queen Elizabeth Competition, Ms. Petrova performed as soloist with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia under Paul Goodwin. Of Ms. Petrova’s North-American orchestral debut with conductor Philippe Entremont, she was praised for her “ultra-smooth playing style” by the New York Examiner. Ms. Petrova has appeared both as soloist and chamber musician at Virginia Arts Festival, Music@Menlo, Malaga Clasica in Spain, and Mozartfest in Germany. Ms. Petrova’s recording of Stravinsky's Les noces with the Virginia Symphony under conductor JoAnn Falletta was released on the Naxos label in 2016; she is now recording a CD set of the complete piano sonatas of Samuil Feinberg on the same label.
