CHRISTOPHER RYAN LARSON 31, born in Spokane, Washington, is currently in the Artist Certificate program at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance in Kansas City, Missouri, where he studies with Christopher McLaurin. Mr. Larson has been committed to the exposure and advancement of new music in Kansas City, receiving coaching by composers Jennifer Higdon, John Mackey, and James Mobberley, and premiering works by Chen Yi and Pulitzer Prize winner Zhou Long. Mr. Larson has performed with PRISM Quartet and newEar Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, regularly performs with Kansas City Symphony, and has performed with South Dakota Symphony. Summer festivals previously attended include National Repertory Orchestra and Hot Springs Music Festival. This is his first summer at Music Academy of the West.
