ERICA A. GAILING (’16) 24, born in Manhasset, New York, is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School, where she received a master’s degree under Cynthia Phelps and Toby Appel. Ms. Gailing went to Macaulay Honors College at Queens College for her undergraduate studies, where she studied Violin Performance and Honors in the Humanities. Ms. Gailing served as Principal Violist of The Juilliard Orchestra, and also as a teaching artist at City College Academy of the Arts through the Morse Fellowship Program. Ms. Gailing is an avid chamber music performer and recently began her own chamber series to benefit the homeless population in New York, called Giving Back on the Upper West Side. This will be her second summer at the Music Academy of the West.
