ERIN C. PITTS (’16) 19, from Atlanta, Georgia, is a violist and proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship at The Juilliard School. Musical awards include: 2016 Blount-Slawson Concerto Competition (2nd Place); 2016 American String Teachers Association Solo Competition (2nd Place); 2016 American Viola Society Solo Competition (finalist); 2016 Georgia All-State Orchestra Senior Award; and finalist in the 2015 Johansen International String Competition. Ms. Pitts appeared on NPR’s From the Top in 2015 and was Principal Violist in the National Youth Orchestra in 2014. Ms. Pitts won concerto competitions with both the Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, where she served as principal violist for three years. Ms. Pitts has participated in programs including Music Academy of the West, Heifetz International Music Festival, Colorado College Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, Castleman Quartet Program, Indiana University Summer Strings Program, and Philadelphia International Music Festival.
