LIUWENJI WANG 22, born in Xinjiang, China, is an undergraduate student at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studies with Gregory Fulkerson. Ms. Wang has performed with China Youth Symphony Orchestra on the China mainland as well as in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. In 2010, Ms. Wang performed as soloist in the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto under Shanghai Opera’s artistic director Guoyong Zhang. In 2012, Ms. Wang then performed as soloist in Bach’s Double Concerto in D Minor with Leon Spierer, former concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic. Last year, Ms. Wang represented Oberlin College in recital at the Oberlin at Oakton Music Series held in Virginia. In 2017, Ms. Wang’s chamber group was selected to play the Danenberg Honors Recital. Liuwenji Wang began studying violin at age six with her father, and continued under the direction of professors Xiaolong Liu and Ti Zhang at the Central Conservatory of Music in China. There, Ms. Wang was awarded a scholarship for Outstanding Special Studies.
