NATHANIEL SILBERSCHLAG 18, born in Leonardtown, Maryland, is earning a bachelor’s degree at The Juilliard School where he studies with Julie Landsman and is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship. Mr. Silberschlag made his professional debut at age 9 in Italy, and at age 11 appeared as a soloist with the Bulgarian Philharmonic. Mr. Silberschlag was principal horn of the Romanian State Symphony on a tour in Northern Italy and also appeared as a soloist with New York’s Little Orchestra Society. Mr. Silberschlag recently won the 2016 Juilliard Horn Concerto Competition, and last year was the first recipient of the Edwin C. Thayer, Laurel Bennert Ohlson Award for artistry and excellence on the French horn. In 2014 and 2015, Mr. Silberschlag attended the National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute at the Kennedy Center and graduated from the National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellowship Program in May 2015.
