RENÉE VOGEN 26, a native of Manhattan, Illinois, is a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Renée Vogen is principal horn of the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra and is also heard in performances as an extra musician with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New Chicago Brass, Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, Gil Evans Chamber Jazz Ensemble, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and Cayuga Chamber Orchestra.  Dedicated to teaching, Renée Vogen maintains a private horn studio and is the adjunct professor of horn at Concordia University Chicago.  Ms. Vogen earned her master’s degree in horn performance from DePaul University under the tutelage of James Smelser, and both her bachelor’s degree in horn performance and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music under the instruction of W. Peter Kurau.
