RYAN NORVILLE 23, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earned his bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music in flute performance. Mr. Norville began playing the flute at age 12 and attended Interlochen Arts Academy. Mr. Norville’s primary teachers include Maureen Steager, Brook Ferguson, Nancy Stagnitta, and Bonita Boyd. Mr. Norville is the recipient of the Michael Kamen Solo Award for his Haynes flute from Mr. Hollands Opus Foundation, and has also been the recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship from NPR’s From The Top. Ryan Norville has attended the Chautauqua and Aspen Music Festivals. This is his first summer at the Music Academy of the West.
