BEETHOVEN SYMPHONY NO. 9 "ODE TO JOY"

Over 7,000 $10 and free tickets will be offered to enjoy the New York Philharmonic at Santa Barbara City College’s La Playa Stadium. The historic concert will mark Alan Gilbert’s final appearance as New York Philharmonic Music Director.

Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony will feature Music Academy superstar alumni soprano Susanna Phillips (‘02,’03) and mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke ('02), joined by tenor Joe Kaiser, bass Morris Robinson, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale in the iconic “Ode to Joy,” closing with a stunning fireworks display over the ocean.

General admission tickets (bleacher seating, first-come, first-served) are $10 each. Young people ages 7-17 receive a FREE general admission ticket when accompanied by a ticketed adult

VIP reserved seating on the field level also includes reserved parking adjacent to the La Playa Stadium. Young people ages 7-17 receive a FREE premiere reserved ticket when accompanied by a premiere reserved ticketed adult.

The 70th Anniversary Community Concert will be dedicated in remembrance of Léni Fé Bland.
