World premieres especially for the Competition Winners, commissioned by the Music Academy of the West

The winner of the 2018 Solo Piano Competition, Sophiko Simsive performs Bach’s Italian Concerto, Chopin Preludes, Op. 28 and the premiere of Orpheus Suite (after Rilke) by Elizabeth Ogonek. The winners of the 2018 Marilyn Horne Song Competition mezzo-soprano Kelsey Lauritano and pianist Andrew Sun perform Schubert, Ravel, Falla, and a premiere song cycle by Ricky Ian Gordon.

Recital Programs

The 2018 Marilyn Horne Song Competition Winners mezzo-soprano Kelsey Lauritano and pianist Andrew Sun and the 2018 Solo Piano Competition winner Sophiko Simsive will also perform recitals in London (January 11), New York (April 3), and Chicago (May 22). Sophiko Simisive will appear in London (January 11), Chicago (April 10), and Los Angeles (April 28).
