  • Solo piece, concerto or sonata movement of applicant's choice (3 minutes maximum)  PLEASE NOTE: If you select the Mozart Concerto, offer the first movement exposition only

  • Mozart: Marriage of Figaro, Overture, mm. 101-123 and mm. 139-172

  • First movement exposition from a standard concerto. In the case of works such as Rococo, Schelomo, and Elgar Concerto, applicant should present 5 minutes of music of his/her choosing

Harp

Harp

The Harp fellow performs as a member of the Academy Festival Orchestra, receives private lessons, and participates in public masterclasses and chamber music ensembles as opportunities become available. The harpist is offered additional solo performance opportunities, including recitals and public outreach concerts.

Harp applicants must apply online and upload a video audition along with the application. Live auditions are not available for harp.

Auditions are 15 minutes each. Faculty will select from the list above during the live auditions

Applicants who do not audition live must upload an unedited video audition recording with the following reductions to the above repertoire list: After the three solos, play only excerpts 1 and 2 from the lists for snare drum, xylophone, glockenspiel, and timpani. Video Upload Auditions: For those who do not audition live and instead upload a video audition to the online application, zoom in when creating your video; the camera angle only needs to capture your image above the shoulders, not a head-to-toe image. Be sure the camera angle is filming your right-side profile (not straight ahead of you nor your left-side profile) so your instrument’s horn does not block your face within the camera angle. Also ensure your music stand is not blocking the camera’s view of your profile.
