Music Academy of the West public events have been cancelled through May 10 2020 as advised by the California Department of Health. Please visit musicacademy.org and the Music Academy of the West Facebook page for updated information.

Event reserved for Academy annual fund supporters at the Council of Contributors level and above ($2,500+)

Join us for an up-close and personal listen of an exciting new studio project by faculty favorites Richie Hawley (clarinet) and Conor Hanick (solo piano). They return to the Academy to perform selections from their soon-to-be-released recording.

This highly-anticipated album represents their passion for new music, including the premiere recording of Music Academy 2019 composer-in-residence Jennifer Higdon’s A gentle notion, Aaron Copland’s Sonata, and the unaccompanied clarinet masterpiece Wings by Joan Tower. Plus: the premiere recording of Pierre Jalbert’s Clarinet Sonata, commissioned by the duo and first performed at the Music Academy in 2015.

5:30 PM / Performance
