GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Under the general direction of the Sr. Director Finance & Administration, the incumbent assists with the accounting function of Music Academy of the West. Accounts Payable responsibilities include disbursement preparation, entering and coding invoices into accounting system, administering the company credit card, preparing and filing sales tax payments and returns, and posting journal entries. Month-End duties include preparing journal entries for review and input into accounting system, preparing reconciliation of bank statements, preparing monthly reports, assisting in fiscal close activities, and assisting in annual audit. Accounts Receivable duties include Cash receipts, reconciling contributions (Raiser’s Edge), preparing and recording bank deposits, generating draft invoices, reconciling credit card receipts from payment platforms, recording deposits, and maintaining AR procedure.

The Music Academy of the West is seeking a Chief Artistic Officer. DIRECTOR OF PLANNED GIVING

As a member of the Advancement Department, the Director of Planned Giving will develop, implement, and manage a strategic Planned Giving program to achieve or exceed annual planned giving targets for the Academy’s legacy society (“The Encore Society”), and work with a team including the CEO, Chief Advancement Officer, and Board in raising cash and planned gifts to support a focused endowment growth initiative.

Summer Seasonal Opportunities

SUMMER SHUTTLE DRIVER

seasonal, part-time, Jun 10 – Aug 11

The Shuttle Driver transports Music Academy fellows between Westmont College, the Music Academy Campus, and various downtown locations. Shifts will be established at least 5 days in advance. Shuttle driver operates 15-25 passenger vehicles provided by the Music Academy.

Driving hours and shifts may be scheduled within the following daily timeframes:

  • Monday – Saturday between 8 am – 11 pm
  • Sunday between 10 am – 10 pm

PARKING & FACILITIES ASSISTANT

The Parking & Facilities Assistant will direct vehicle drivers to open parking spots, answer general questions about the day’s program, direct patrons to the correct building for Music Academy events, and assist with the general readiness of the Music Academy campus. Parking & Facilities Assistants will work approximately 25 hours per week.

SUMMER RESIDENT DIRECTOR

The Resident Directors are members of the Academy’s residence life team. In collaboration with the Housing Director, they manage the Academy’s residential life program, under the direction of the Student Services department. Resident Directors serve as the Academy’s primary contact for the residential campus at which the Academy houses fellows (students) and select summer administration. This is a summer “live-in” position.

SUMMER HOUSING DIRECTOR

The Housing Director collaborates with the Resident Directors in managing the Academy’s residence life program and residential campus under the direction of the Student Services department. The Music Academy provides a residential campus for the 140 fellows (students) who attend the annual Summer School and Festival. The Housing Director is a key member of the Residence Life team. This is a summer “live-in” position.

HOUSE MANAGER

House Managers are responsible for overseeing all Front of House operations before, during, and after each event where patrons and audience members are present. House Managers work closely with Ticket Office staff, stage and production staff, and others to ensure a successful, polished show flow. These positions report to the Audience Services & Community Access Manager.

ARTISTIC PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Artistic Program Coordinatorbworks closely with Music Academy summer administration, faculty, guest artists, and fellows to produce public and non-public events, manage masterclass assignments, manage the master schedule in ArtsVision, schedule instructional and performance activities, manage room scheduling, and collect and distribute program information for all events.

The Artist Liaison works directly with Music Academy guest artists, conductors, and faculty artists during the Summer School and Festival. The position reports to the Senior Director of Festival and Production and also works closely with Music Academy Administration and fellows.
