DANIEL KIM 19, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Kim is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University and studies with Shmuel Ashkenasi of the late Vermeer Quartet. Mr. Kim’s previous teachers include Yayoi Numazawa and Yumi Ninomiya Scott of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Julian Meyer, Helen Kwalwasser, and Choon-Jin Chang. Daniel  Kim was a recipient of the Dorothy Richard Starling Scholarship at Temple University's Music Preparatory Center for Gifted Young Musicians, where he served as co-concertmaster of the Youth Chamber Orchestra and as a member of various string ensembles. Mr. Kim has attended the Meadowmount School of Music, The Heifetz International Music Institute, and Yellow Barn's Young Artist Program as a scholarship recipient.
