GI YEON YOON 25, praised for her ability to move the hearts of the audience, has had a brilliant career in her homeland of Korea, and is becoming a distinguished artist in the United States. Ms. Yoon performs as a soloist, chamber music performer, and orchestra concertmaster. Ms. Yoon first debuted as soloist at Eastman School of Music under the guidance of renowned professor Zvi Zeitlin. Since then, she has performed in orchestras including Bucheon Philharmonic, Seoul National University Orchestra, and Seoul Arts High School Orchestra. Ms. Yoon’s award-winning career includes first place in the Dong-a, Segye Times, and Kookmin Times Competitions, second place in the Busan and Hankook Times Competitions, and third place in the Joongang Times Competition. Ms. Yoon has received the guidance of Professor Young Uck kim over the course of six years during her studies at Seoul National University. Ms. Yoon maintains an active career in chamber music, including performing in a string quartet during the Schumann Festival and in the Seoul International Music Festival "Fringe". Ms. Yoon earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Seoul National University as valedictorian, and now attends Manhattan School of Music on full scholarship, where she receives the guidance of Laurie Smukler. Ms. Yoon also studies under conductor and violinist Laurie Carney, who formed American String Quartet.
