KAELAN DECMAN (’16) 22, born in Los Angeles, California, is an undergraduate student at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, where he studies with Bruce Bransby. Mr. Decman has performed with numerous regional orchestras across the state of Indiana, and serves as principal bass of both the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Decman attended the New York String Orchestra Seminar in 2014, and was a fellow at the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2015. Winner of the Music Academy's 2017 Zarin Mehta Global Academy Fellowship, Mr. Decman had the opportunity to perform with the New York Philharmonic this past January. This is his second summer at the Music Academy of the West.
